Mr. Independent

Avery is such an independent little guy lately. He basically teaches me how to do things and tells me when he needs a change. A few months back he decided that he didnt like taking naps in his swing or bouncy chair. He just wants to be layed down in his crib all by himself. He doesnt even let me feed him his bottle anymore most of the time. =( He has decided that he no longer eats baby food because he cant feed himself with the spoon. So he eats only finger food. And recently he has given up his paci all on his own. He is just over it! I am not ready for him to be so independent. Today Michael and I tried to have him take a nap with us in our bed and he just kept trying to get off the bed. So I finally went and layed him in his crib where he fell straight to sleep. I need some cuddle time with my sweet baby and he isnt having it! What's a Mama to do??

Avery's first time to play at Boomerang's!

Boomerang's is a favorite of my nieces & nephews so we have been there before but Avery was too little to do much. Now that he is crawling he can have so much fun. I gotta take him back soon!

Wanna see what happens when I try to feed Avery nowadays??

Avery now insists on holding his own bottle AND feeding himself. He loves to eat solid foods and baby food but the baby food is too messy for him now that he snatches the spoon everytime I try to feed him. I am proud of his new-found independence but I gotta draw the line since he ends up with baby food dripping from his eyelashes. He is such a lil' turkey these days!

Michael found this nasty thing sitting right next to our front door. Good thing he found it before I got home because I would have stroked out if I walked up on this thing.

We have a CRAWLER on our hands!!

Avery has been getting up on his hands and knees for a few weeks now. And about a week ago he started moving but he wouldnt get too far before falling on his tummy. But this morning after his breakfast, I set him on the floor to play and he took off! I was jumping up and down and cheering my little guy on as he made it across the room. He was so proud and smiling so big! He did however get hurt twice today. His hands slipped out from under him and he busted his mouth on the leg of his swing. And then he got his finger pinched in the door-stopper-thingy. He definitely doesnt give me time to even blink nowadays but we are having so much fun!
