25 Weeks & 5 Days

Since I know ya'll love my belly pics... here are a few more. =)

Photobucket
Please excuse the messy room.

Photobucket
Okay so I realize that I should probably be wearing all maternity clothes at this point but as you can see I prefer to squeeze my big ole butt into my regular clothes still. Who cares if my tummy hangs out the bottom of my shirts?! HAHA!

And a bare belly shot for fun!

I love Garden Ridge!

So Sunday afternoon Michael and I get a call from my parents who need Michael's tahoe. They were buying a mirror for my dad's bathroom and it was too large to fit in his car. So Michael and I head up to Garden Ridge to help out. Well, mirrors are buy one get one 50% off so my Dad told us to pick one out. SCORE! We got the coolest mirror. Its huge and beautiful. (Not sure else how to explain it) Now we just have to decide if we will use it in the guest bathroom over the vanity or in the dining room. I am getting sooo excited about our new house. I can't wait to get our stuff moved in so I can start decorating. Also, Garden Ridge has so much cute Halloween and Christmas stuff. I am so going to stock up soon before it gets picked over.

Well, I'm off to Lowe's to pick up some paint samples. =)

Friday hated Me!

So I wake up early to get to my OB appt at 9am where I was expecting to do the dreaded glucose test. But the nurse forgot to give me the drink and since I was feeling nauseated I didnt remind her. When she did remember she said not to worry and that we will just do it next time. So after paying my portion of the delivery charge ($1200) I was in and out of the Dr's in about 20 minutes. I was happy about that since I had so much to do and was in a huge time crunch. Well, since I gained a little but of time at the Dr's I decided I would swing by Pottery Barn Kids on Knox to check out the crib bedding. I rush in and check it out then head back to the car in record time. Well, my dang car was dead. Like no sign of life what-so-ever. When I would turn the key nothing happened...no lights, no sounds, no nothing. UGGGGGHHH!! I freaked a little since I had so much going on and it was already about 100 degrees outside. Let me please tell you that if you are looking for car help in the Knox-Henderson area during the week...GOOD LUCK! All of the guys that were going in and out of Starbucks (which is right next to PBK) were either old ass men or pretty boys in suits who could care less about a crying, sweating pregnant girl who is having car trouble. Grrr!! Since Michael was at work and I did NOT want him to have to leave I called my sister. She immediately packed her kiddos in the car and headed to my rescue. In the meantime I call a tow truck because when my battery died last year we had to have it towed to the Honda dealership. Luckily, when the tow guy got there he was able to jump start my car and after $80 I was on my way. My sister follows me to the car place and we drop off my car. They tell me my battery is still under warranty so it would not cost me anything! YEA! We go to have lunch and then haul booty to the new house for the appraisal. Appraisal went well and turns out that we got a GREAT deal on the house. I hand the man a check for $350 then head back to get my car. When I get there they say, "by the way, you need new brakes." F$*K!!! I say "How much?" he says "$180" I say, "Fine, give me new brakes." So after they finish with that I get my car and head on my merry little way. *Note: By this time my level of bitchiness has risen to an all time high* So I get back home and I wait for Carla to come over. In the meantime I decide I would call Aetna to get my dental stuff cleared up. Well, the Aetna lady is a complete bitch and unwilling to help at all so I owe $120 for my dental cleaning because once again Hope Cottage is a piece of shit. They never gave me a dental card after requesting it over and over again for a whole year. And apparently it had some vital info that I would have LOVED to have known. BLAH! =( So Carla arrives and we go get our nails done (which took longer than expected) and swing by the new house so she can see it. We race back home to get ready to go out with the girls. I get out of the shower and am about to call Tara when I realize "SHIIIITT, I left my phone at the nail place!" So I have to haul ass back up there to get my phone while Carla gets ready. *By this time I just want to go back home and sleep until the bad luck passes* Due to this detour we miss our reservations but luckily Monica's was able to hold our table for awhile so that was okay.

So all-in-all Friday was ROUGH!!

$1200+$80+$350+$180+$120= $1930 in one day!

Let's hope that my bad luck will subside for a little while.

Anyways, here are some pics from our girls dinner at Monica's. (Please excuse the swollen pregnant look that I am rockin')

Baby Bedding Round 3

Okay so I have changed my mind AGAIN about the baby bedding. I kinda kate all of the stuff at Babies R Us because I feel like everyone has it. And it all looks scratchy to me. So here are some more ideas. I'm just brainstorming and wanted to have these all laid out for me to look at. If you like one let me know. It may make my decision a bit easier. =)

What I really want is something with Red Firetrucks, but more vintage rather than cheesy firetrucks. Pottery Barn had something like this awhile back but since then has discontinued it. But they have a kids bedding set like it and I wonder if I should buy it and then have my crafty sisters help me take it apart and make crib bedding with it. Hmmmmm....

"It's justa turk!"

While spending some time at Juli's house with her and her kids I heard way too much talk about turks. For people who do not know a what "turk" is I will explain. A "turk" is what Lukey calls poopy. For some reason he got "turkey" (which his parents often call him) and "turd" (aka poopy) confused. Anyways, Luke will do just about anything to avoid nap time. He calls his mommy to his room a million times by convincing her that he has had an accident. And being that they are in the middle of potty training Juli runs to get him and rushes him to the potty. After about 5 potty trips in 20 minutes Juli finally sits down to breast feed Olivia. So this ties her up and when Lukey starts yelling that he needs out of bed to go potty it was Aunt Lala's duty. So he says that he needs to turk. I rush him to the potty where I strip him down. An my worst fear happens. When I pulled down his undies none other than a TURK falls out onto my FOOT. I scream and Lukey says "Its justa turk." Haha. Needless to say I gagged the entire time of cleaning this mess up.

Pregnancy and turks just dont mix. I have found myself dry heaving a few times since this nightmarish experience earlier today. Yuck!

Just another reason that I hate Hope Cottage...

So I get a bill in the mail from my dentist for $120 bucks. I call and tell them that they need to re-submit this claim to my insurance because I in fact DO have dental coverage. So they re-submit and a few days later I recieve the same bill in the mail for $120. Today I speak with the girl that handles HR at Hope Cottage and she tells me that I never chose a primary dental provider which means that I have to pay the $120 when it should be free. I am so pissed. Why did they never inform me of this not even one time during the whole year that I worked for them?? Basically I had monthly dental payments taken out of my paycheck each pay period but I never really even had dental insurance. I specifically remember before going to the dentist that I checked to be sure this dentist was IN-NETWORK. I just hate Hope Cottage and I think everyone who works up there is a complete dumbass. The executive Director is superficial and heartless. She barely shows up to work and when she does she gets nothing done. The only people who actually cared about adoption or pregnant women in the community are either the few case workers that they have or they are the people who they layed off because they have no idea how to stay within a budget.

Anyways, I am super pissed about this since I have had so many problems with them regarding my medical insurance and now its damn dental too.

GRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!

24 Weeks Preggo & Still Alive

If you would've told me when I was 6 weeks pregnant that I would survive this pregnancy & I just might actually enjoy it I would have slapped you. I was certain that life was over and I would be a goner in no time. Okay, okay... I realize I am a bit dramatic. I'm working on it!

Here are my 24 weeks likes & gripes:

Likes:
-I still really get a kick (haha) out of feeling Avery moving around in my tummy.
-I don't feel one ounce of guilt that I have desert after dinner EVERY NIGHT.
-I feel like I have a more "sensitive" sense of humor. When anything slightly funny happens I crack up...for a long time. That may be the lack of social interaction but hey, I enjoy it. =)

Gripes:
-HEART BURN! Its awful and just doesnt seem to get any better.
-I know everyone keeps saying, get your rest while you can because once the baby comes I wont be able to. Well, the thing that sucks is that I can only sleep in short intervals. So I go to bed late at night and wake up super early. And I usually wake up and watch TV in the middle of the night. But I do have the luxury of taking a short nap during the day so that helps.
-My last gripe is my expanding ass. I have started to put on weight which is fine but I just didnt want my ass to get any more "plump". Probably all the deserts but I refuse to go with out so I will just have to workout extra hard once my baby boy gets here.

*I'll post a pic of this growing belly soon*

"Come on in, I'll show ya around."

Offer Accepted!

So we came upon an agreement for the price of the house, got a verbal acceptance, re-wrote our contract and faxed it off. The hard part is over! Well...kinda. But now we have a buttload of paperwork to get over to the lender. I swear, they want to know EVERYTHING about you when you buy a house. Who knew it was so in depth?! Anyways, as promised here are some more pics of the house. We are hoping to be able to call this house HOME in less than 30 days from now. =)

Thinking too far into the future but...

I love this Halloween costume. I kinda want to buy if for my baby boy's first halloween next year.

It's a Glow Worm!

**Correction** Haha, so apparently I wasnt thinking too clearly. Avery will be 11 mos old next October so that def wouldnt work. An 11 month old who is walking (hopefully) would be super pissed off in a Glow Worm outfit that wouldnt let him move freely. HAHA. I am so ignit.

Baby Clothes

So I got Avery some MORE clothes today. I know that we probably already have too many but I couldnt pass up the sale at Pumpkin Patch. I never even knew this store existed and to be honest, I was quite impressed with the baby boy selection. Here is one outfit that I got. Each piece was only $6.99. Go me!!

Monday Randomness...

-So today I encountered another weird food thing. First let me tell you how I LOVE Spaghetti O's. I always have and thought I always will. Well, I made a piping hot bowl of SO's & Meatballs and sat down for lunch. I take a big bite and EWWWW...I died a little bit inside. It tasted sooo sweet and the meatballs which WERE my fav caused a little dry heaving action. Yuck. So I just ate cheese and crackers. Baby Boy seems to always love some cheese and crackers...for now at least.

*~*Warning: This is sick!*~*
-This past weekend my neice and nephew (Kailey & Cammie) were at my moms. We sat down to eat and my dad walks in the kitchen and toots. Well, it didnt smell or anything but the thought of an old man fart really got to me. I dry heaved. I dry heaved alot. Its funny but also really sucks. Things that would normally never bother me really gross me out. If I even so much as think about nasty things (ex: public bathrooms...GROSS!) I will dry heave and get all sick feeling.

-Let me just say that I love pregnant chicks. I feel an instant connection to them and while on the outside people can look at us and say "How cute!". We really know how bad the past few months for that person has sucked. So when I see a fellow preggo at the mall we look at eachother and give a sweet lil smile cuz MISERY LOVES COMPANY. So to my friends who read this. Go get knocked up! Its FUN! ;)

(Okay I know I can come off as pretty negative about pregnancy and such but I truly am happy. Probably the happiest I have been in years. Its really not that bad and I can so see how worth it all of this craziness is gonna be come December 4th.)

Today's positive pregnancy thought: It makes your nails super strong. =)
Today's negative pregnancy thought: You can't sleep flat on your back! =(

My Saturday Night Fun...

Okay so Michael went fishing & hog hunting(Haha...Who does that?!) with some friends this weekend. Anyways he left this morning and will be home tomorrow morning. He said that I could go which I think is hysterical. I am so against hunting of any kind and a pregnant chick with a gun...not a great idea! Saturday night sitting at home when nothing is on TV sucks big time but I have been able to catch up on some rest.

Today, my mom and I drove around to see a couple of other houses just to be sure that there isnt anything better out there. And of course, there is not. So, when Michael gets home tomorrow we will call the realtor and send back a counteroffer to the house in Wylie. *Makes me NERVOUS!*

After driving around all day in the heat and stressing out about house stuff, I am pooped! So the best medicine when I am deathly tired and stressed is none other than a warm (preggers cant quit do the HOT anymore) bubble bath. And you have to go all out to get the best "destressing" experience. So I grabbed a book, dimmed the lights, lit some candles and jumped in. It was FAB! But the best part was the the Orgins bubble bath. Its not the best bubble bath for bubbles which is silly but I just love the scent. Its soo relaxing. Getcha some!

Since Michael is out of town and I would have normally seen that as the perfect opportunity for a girls night, it got me thinking. I miss my friends!! I feel like I have always been able to juggle my friends and my relationship with Michael pretty well. You know how everyone HATES that girl who drops her friends for any random dude she is dating...well thats not me and never has been. Since we were 16 we hung out together alot but also spent alot of time with our friends. But now I feel just completely disconnected from most of my friends. Granted some of my friends do not live in town which makes it hard to schedule time to hang out when they are in town for a day or two. But thats besides the point. My friends here in the DFW area I dont see much at all. I understand that I am pregnant and wouldnt be much fun bar hopping anymore but still. I feel like we used to always make a point to do dinner or drinks ever so often. Now its hard enough to even catch eachother on the phone. =( Well, this entire year I was kinda OVER the whole bar scene. I had done it for the past 4+ years and it just seemed so lame to me. So I guess thats probably when me and the girls stopped hanging out every weekend. I understand people being in different places in there lives (ex: none of my friends have kids & probably wont for a very long time)but how do you fit eachother in your own schedule once that happens.

I will admit that Casi, Brittany, & Sarah keep in touch and still want to grab dinner and stuff. And lately it has been my fault as to why plans fell through which I hate. After we get some of this house stuff out of the way then I will have alot more time and I am going to make a point of spending more time with my friends. Its healthy and so neccessary to have girls night out...even if we do call it a night at 10:30pm. ;)

"You want lip wax??"

"No bitch I dont. Thanks though!"

Why is it that everytime you are at a nail salon and you say that you would like your eyebrows waxed they immediately insult you by wanting to wax your 'stache?! I mean come on, if you can so much as find a hair above my lip then go for it but I cant tell you right now that I aint gotta hairy lip. GAH!

Anyways, so after I had my medical insurance freak attack this morning I felt the need to be pampered. I would've loved to get a pedicure so that I could have a good foot rub but my toes are beautimus thanks to my mama taking me to get a pedi last weekend. So I opted for just a manicure and eyebrow wax (minus the lip wax from Tammy). I know that I said I wouldnt spend ANY money on things like this but it was soooo necessary. And I gotta tell you, I felt so much better after getting pampered even just a little.

Check this video out, it is sooo funny and soo true!

Potential New Home..

Okay so I really don't want to jinx anything but I am in love with this house. We are in negotiations with the seller at this point so nothing is set in stone. But I really wanted to show yall the house and at least the backyard. If the sell goes through then I will post pics of the rest of the house.

So here 'tis:

Isnt it cute?!

I love the size of the backyard. So much room for Baby Avery and the dogs to run around. =)

My Sweet Bama Girl!

She is a very nosey dog and has no idea what personal space is.

Here she is laying her head in my lap. She HAS to be touching you at all times.

We LOVE her!

23 Weeks...119 days to go!

Info from Baby Center: Turn on the radio and sway to the music. With her sense of movement well developed by now, your baby can feel you dance. And now that she's more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound (about as much as a large mango), you may be able to see her squirm underneath your clothes. Blood vessels in her lungs are developing to prepare for breathing, and the sounds that your baby's increasingly keen ears pick up are preparing her for entry into the outside world. Loud noises that become familiar now — such as your dog barking or the roar of the vacuum cleaner — probably won't faze her when she hears them outside the womb.

Medical Insurance BLOWS!

I am so annoyed! First off, I hate Hope Cottage. Second, why is having a baby soooo expensive? Third, I have had an awful headache for 36 hours plus. =(

*Beware: I am in total BITCH mode this morning*

Anyways, let me explain. So since I am no longer with Hope Cottage I had to get on Cobra benefits. This basically means that I get my same coverage through Aetna except I have to pay almost $600/month to stay on. Well, that completley sucks because we could so use $600 in such a better way each month. When Michael and I get married I can be on his insurance. But while his insurance (80/20) is cheaper monthly ($95 bucks for both of us) his deductible is $1500 and maximum out of pocket is $5000. Grrrr!! On my aetna (70/30) my deductible is $250 with a $3000 max out of pocket. I think we figured it to actually be cheaper with my insurance even with the high ass monthly premiums. BUT, if I deliver at Michael's work (Richardson Regional) then it is alot cheaper. I guess thats why they do it that way. They are a hospital and want you to use their services first before going else where. I can understand that but come on, Medical City is one of the best hospitals in the area and I feel much more comfortable there. I know my doctor and really dont want to have to switch. Michael works at RRMC and knows nothing about the labor and delivery area. He said he hasnt even ever been through that area. I just dont know what to do. Do I save money and deliver somewhere that I am totally uncomfortable with? Or do I stick to Medical City where I know what to expect? Not only have I being going to that OBGYN since I was like 18 or so but my sister's have delivered 4 babies there in the last 3 1/2 years so I know exactly what to expect. I am such a baby and I know that having a baby is going to be a traumatic experience in itself but to put me in a hospital that I know nothing about...that just adds to the stress of it all.

Its just so annoying that we have to deal with this AND buying a house. I think this is why I have been getting such bad headaches. I never really got headaches before my pregnancy and now when I do get one it last for days. Sure, I take tylenol since that is as good as it gets with pregnancy meds but it doesnt help. Last night I took a long shower and I thought it went away. But as soon as I got out of the shower my head started pounding AGAIN.

So this post was only for bitching purposes. I am at my breaking point today so I apologize if you wasted your time reading this. I will post something more positive later...hopefully.

XOXO~ Debbie Downer

Food Obsessions...

Okay so I have noticed that throughout my pregnancy I get obsessed with a certain drink/food every few weeks. At first it was oranges and popsicles. One night when Michael was still at work I went to the freezer to get a popsicle to find that they were ALL GONE. I freaked! At this point in my pregnancy I had such severe nausea that driving to the store to get more popsicles was not an option. And thats all I needed at that moment. So, what do I do? I call Michael at work and bitch him out and then start frantically crying. I mean come on, who eats the last popsicle and doesnt replenish the supply. Haha. (I know I overreacted but oh well.)

During the popsicle phase I also loved oranges. I basically didnt eat much else besides the much needed saltines and ginger ale. Anyways, one night before bed I ate an orange. Just like I did every other night because I had to have something on my stomach at all times or the room would start spinning. Well, I'm not sure exactly what was different about this orange but about 10 minutes later I was throwing up everywhere. I couldnt do anything to stop it either. So I scream for Michael to come upstairs and bring lots of water and crackers. He sat there on the bathroom floor with me while all of this craziness went down just like a good lil baby daddy should. I finally got a cracker or 2 down along with my anti-nausea prescription and everything was all good. But I havent been able to eat a dang orange since. Well, the crazy thing about this is that I crave orange juice really bad. But OJ makes my indigestion about 10x worse so that isnt an option. Well, over the weekend I found a solution....Sunny D! Sure, it isnt near as healthy as some plain ole OJ but it works. Its satisfies my craving and doesnt make me have to sleep sitting up. So today I am on my 3rd Sunny D and I am in heaven. Oh and watermelon is also a huge obsession I currently have. We shall see if I can even look at either in a couple of weeks. Gah, pregnancy is fun! ;)

Happy 26th Birthday Michael!!

So today was Michael's 26th birthday. Since we are in the process of trying to purchase a house we have really had to cut back on our spending. So we just did dinner and a movie. It was so hard for me not to go out and buy him a bunch of gifts because I usually try to do alot for his bday. Like last year we got a really cool hotel room at Hotel Lumen, went to dinner at Bennihana's , I got him a couple of outfits, and then we just chilled at the hotel. So a dinner and movie seemed like nothing. But I guess that's how it goes when you have more important things to spend your money on. So anyways, we went to this new pizza place called Brooklyn's. It was pretty good. The service sucked but my preggo ass sure did love the eggplant parmesan. Afterwards, we browsed through Circuit City and pointed out all of the things that we are NOT going to buy. Haha! And oh man, they have the hugest TV's out now. It was funny because I guess they were closing up shop and we didnt realize it and we were turning TV's on to check them out. Little did we know that the guy that worked up there had just spent probably about 30 minutes turning about a million of those damn things off... OOPS! Okay so anyways, after that we went to see Step Brothers. It was pretty funny. There were a few shocking parts that I just couldn't stop laughing at. I dont think it got good reviews but if you like Will Farrell movies then you will get a kick outta this one too.

So here are some pics of Michael's sexy birthday date (Me, of course):

Welp, I gotta wake up early for jury duty (boooo!) so I'm off to bed.
