Avery's 3rd Birthday

We had a Superhero themed party for Avery this year and he loved everything about it. His best bud, Tatum was able to come which really made the day super special for Avery.

Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate!

State Fair 2011

On Tuesday, I was lucky enough to be able to take off work so that Michael, Avery and I could go to the fair. Let me just tell you- We LOVE the fair! It's something that we look forward to every year. This year we got out to the fair super early. The weather was gorgeous and there was little to no crowd at all. Perfect fair day!

At the fair we...
Saw cows/sheep/pigs
Watched the dog show
Crawled our way through every car at the car show
Pretended to be farmers in the kids area
Played with tractors in the livestock barn
Fed lots of animals in the petting zoo
Ate taco salad- Mommy's lunch
Ate pizza- Daddy's lunch
Didnt eat a quesadilla- Avery's lunch
Devoured some fried cookie dough- Mommy
Enjoyed a popsicle- Avery
Got "sticky wit it" with some cotton candy- Daddy & Avery
Missed the bird show but checked out the BIG owls beforehand
Looked at the big ferris wheel then decided...NOPE!
Didnt spend $5-$20 on impossible to win carnival games
Dodged creepy "Carni-folk"
Put our child on a scary/dangerous/terrifying motorcycle ride

Yep, that about sums it up!

Avery and Michael rode one of the only kid rides that an adult could ride too. They both had fun but Avery wanted to ride another one... the ride of death motorcycle ride. We explained to him that he would have to ride by himself and he said he wanted to. So Michael buckled him on and there we stood, watching our sweet baby stare his fears right in the face. He held on tight and tried not to show how scared he was. Once the other kids got on they started honking these terribly loud horns which got Avery even more nervous. Then the carni-man pushed the go button and my baby started sliding off the side of his seat while his motorcycle jumped through the air. Michael and I tried to keep a smile on our faces in order not to freak Avery out even more. At one point when he flew past me he said "All done Mommy!!". It broke my heart because the next time the ride came around he was crying. The carni-man of course could care less. I was watching Michael as he got more and more nervous about Avery sliding off his motorcycle. We just knew we had to keep cheering him on and yelling "hold on Avery", "both hands", "its almost over". After the longest 3-4 minutes of my life, Michael busted in the ride area and got our sweet baby off that ride. Michael told him he was so proud of him and what a big boy he was. Avery tried to act brave but when he walked over to me he fell into my arms and burst into tears. He said "dat motorcycle hurt my feewings!!". I wanted to cry. My poor baby has never been so scared. Glad Mommy, Daddy and Avery survived! Michael did say how that was the worst judgement call we have made yet as parents. Sorry but no more carnival rides for our Avery.

Pics from before the ride of death started:
 Brave face.

Trying to stop his lip from quivering.

Avery Update

Wow, I have been really sucking at this blog thing lately. I hate that I don't make time to write down all the fun things going on in Avery's life. I will try to do better.

Ever since Avery started using the potty (right before he was 2 1/2 yrs) we have still had to put a pull up on him at night. He has ALWAYS woken up with a completely soaked diaper. Well lately he has been waking up dry. For the past two nights he slept in undies and woke up dry. Yay! So proud of my boy! He has been so easy with this potty training thing. I hope that we can continue to wake up with a dry little boy. We shall see!

Avery is doing so well at his sitter's house. He LOVES Ms. Marci! I feel like it is exactly where he is supposed to be. It definitely took us awhile to find the perfect sitter for him but we definitely have. He is so comfortable over there and I never feel guilty or sad when I drop him off in the mornings.

{Avery please get off of Sophie's back!!!} <---Yeah, that just happened.

What Avery Said..

{After a hug & a kiss at the sitter's house}

Me: "Bye Babe, I love you!"

Avery: "Bye Mom, I love you so much!"

Me: "Okay have a fun day! Be good!'

Avery: "Okay Mom. Be careful...don't get hit by a car!"

Soccer Shots- Day 1

Avery has been so excited about starting soccer. He often wakes up and asks "Avery have soccer practice today?". Well today when he woke up I was able to finally tell him "Yes!".  He wanted to go first thing this morning and wasnt too happy when I told him it would be this afternoon before he could go. After nap he popped up and was so excited. He was half asleep and asked "Where soccer ball, Mama?".  He was so cute during Soccer Shots. As soon as Coach Jasmine asked all the kiddos to go sit in the center of the gym he ran off and followed directions very well. He kept looking over at me and waving and would shout, "Hi Mom!" followed by a thumbs up! He also would shout to me "Look Mom, Avery play basketball!". It was so funny! I didnt bring my camera today because I thought that I would have to chase him around alot more than I did. Next time though I am bringing my camera AND video camera! Yes, I am THAT mom and proud of it!

Here are a couple of pics I snapped with my phone:

Friday Weigh-In

I weighed in this morning and I lost exactly 4 lbs since Monday morning!!
Love that!!!

While I have continued to take pics of everything I eat,  it is really hard to find time at home to upload the pics everyday. I will try to figure out a better way to do it next week. But I may only upload the pics on the days that I work since I am at the computer all day. The other days I will just post a description of what I ate. Who knows, I may even track my calories. ;)

Hope everyone has a fabulous Easter weekend!

Some days...

-Some days I wake up ready to fill every second of Avery's day with fun and excitement.
-Some days I get all the laundry done.
-Some days I have a perfect meal planned out for dinner.
-Some days I deal with toddler tantrums with a smile on my face.
-Some days I have it all figured out.

Today is NOT one of those days. =(

*Update: When I sat down for 2 minutes to write this, my dog ate an entire loaf of brand new bread.*

"Dat Funny Mama?"

Lately Avery is always trying to entertain Michael & I. He loves to make us laugh so now after he does ANYTHING he says "Dat funny Mama?". A lot of times it is funny but sometimes I have to tell him, "No son, that is NOT funny!".  Here is a quick list of Avery "funnies":

-Kick the dog in the ass
-Slap the dog in the face
-Eat dog food
-Slap himself in the face
-Throw huge toy into the wall
-Jump on Daddy's head while he is snoring on the couch.
-Spit
-Talk about poo poo & pee pee
-Scream
-Take off shit diaper & run from us
-Hide while wearing a shit diaper
-Lock the dogs in the bathroom
-Throw food at dinner
-Put himself in time out (okay, that was funny)

The list goes on....
While I applaud his desire to entertain us, this little dude needs some serious work on his humor or Mommy is gonna lose it.

Top 2 Tuesday- Favorite Drinks

1. Sweet Tea
Some good ole' fresh made sweet tea poured over a tall glass of ice is DELISH! I'm talking the REAL sweet tea with REAL sugar. And don't you dare put a lemon in it! However, since the guilt of drinking sugar tends to consume my thoughts, I don't get to enjoy sweet tea too often. For now fresh UN-sweetened tea will have to do. ;)

2. Tall Nonfat No-Whip Mocha
(with an extra shot...if needed)
I'll admit it- I'm a Starbucks addict! I would have one every morning if I could.

Miscellany Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

1. Child Care
Finding someone you trust to care for your child whom you love more than you could ever love yourself is damn near impossible. The end!

2. Mama Time
I hope I enjoy Zumba tonight as much as I enjoy my Cardio/Strength class. More than anything I am looking for a way to release stress, getting in shape is just a bonus! If Mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy so this Mama better get happy ASAP!

3. The Mind of a Toddler
Avery continues to amaze me with his creativity each and everyday. He is so full of life and fun ideas!
(see below for proof)

Skapris!!

So, last week I accidentally bought some Skapris. How does a person "accidentally" buy something you ask? Well, nowadays when I shop for myself it looks like a scene from Super Market Sweeps. I run around the store like a mad woman and collect random shit that I think may fit and I think may be cute. I'm a mom... I have no time, so I am in a perpetual state on hurriedness (?). Sometimes it works, sometimes not so much. So anyways, I was trying to buy some more black capri leggings to go under a cute tunic. I grabbed some and headed to check out. They rang up as $32, which I thought was high but whatever, I was in a hurry.

I pull them out of the bag today (a week later) and notice that my leggings have a damn skirt attached to it. WTF?! I put them on and fell in love. They are sooo comfy! I just may where them to workout tonight. =)

First off, I'm loving that I am BACK!

I am so loving Mystic Tan right now! I feel (and look) so much better with a little tan. The new Mystic Tan has a drying cycle that makes your tan look very natural and even. A great tan minus the skin cancer = YES PLEASE!

I'm also loving the beautiful sunshine! It has been great park weather, which makes my little man and I very HAPPY! Speaking of, when I pick him up today we are heading straight for the park. =)

I'm loving this awesome little facial scrub. It exfoliates and cleanses your face so good. Getcha one!

I'm also LOVING the Cardio, Strength & Conditioning class that I am taking. It whoops my arse and I feel like I may throw up each time but I want MORE MORE MORE! ;) In addition to this class, I signed up for Zumba that starts next week!

Ms Melanie's House

Since Michael started his graduate classes we have started needed childcare during the week when Mama works. I stumbled upon the sweetest lady named Melanie. She stays at home with her two boys (2 yrs & 4 yrs) and watches a little girl who isnt quite 2 yet. Avery's first day was yesterday and he had a great time. Melanie is awesome and was able to send me pics to keep me updated with how my little man was doing.

Quick Update

First thing- I started Weight Watchers online this past Monday. My weigh in days are on Fridays and in 5 days I lost 4.4lbs!!!

Second thing- Between the holidays and a terrible sickness taking down little Avery, I havent been doing my Couch to 5k runs. I will start again... promise!

Third thing- Okay so ever since Avery was about 18 months old he started to notice everywhere we were going. When I turn onto Centerville he starts shouting "Yay! Nana & Paw Paw house!", he remembers where every park is that he has played at and will tell us "this way!" and point for us to turn the car, he starts shouting for Grayson when we pass Woodbridge, he knows when we are getting close to McKinney and starts shouting "Sissy and Ricky!! Yay! Hooray!", we even had to start taking different routes to his school to throw him off or he would start saying "No school!". I'm sure all kids do this but it just amazes me bc half the time Michael has no idea where we are. Haha!
