Blastball

Today I signed Avery up for Blastball! Michael and I are so excited! We can't wait to cheer our little man on. Avery is going to love it so much. I actually had no idea what blast ball was until recently. Below you can read what it is all about. It's basically a step before t-ball and it helps teach kids the basics of the game.

    Blastball Rules 2012

1. The Game
Blastball is the precursor to T-Ball and is played by 2, 3, and 4 year olds.
Blastball is not competitive – the kids need to have fun and learn the basics.
The bat and ball are both soft foam for safety.
Gloves/mitts are not required because of the texture and size of the ball,
but are recommended.
There is only one base in Blastball – and it honks when the player stomps on it! As the season goes along we will add all the bases to teach them how to run the bases.

2. Game Play
Two (2) innings or thirty (30) minutes.
No inning will start after time has expired.
The coaches will hold the official clock.
Each player will bat one time per inning.
If the hitter makes the base before the outfield catches the ball or fields it and yells "Blast," he or she is safe.

3. Scoring
No official score is recorded. Remember, this is for fun!

Doesn't it sound like so much fun? The season starts at the end off March and you can expect lots of pics of my little man in a cute little baseball uniform. =)
