Terrible Two's

Shortly after Avery's first birthday, he started "asserting his independence" aka acting like a little stinker. Over the past couple of months the tantrums have gotten worse and seem to happen alot more often. Since I have bachelors degree in Child Development and Family Studies (with a minor in Psych) you would think I would totally have this under control. Not to mention I am a certified Family Life Educator but let me tell you... this little almost 15 mos old is rocking this mommy's world. I have read probably 10 books since I became pregnant on how to be a great parent with a well-behaved child. I understand that the "terrible two's" is a stage that all children go through due to their lack of communication skills. I will admit that I honestly thought I would be a better parent than every other person who has ever had a child (ignorance I know) and that I would never have to deal with my child screaming at the top of his lungs in the grocery store or throwing his food in a restaurant or that hits or bites or throws himself on the floor no matter where we are. I will tell all other mommies that from experience, the sleepless nights with an infant doesnt have SH!T on the terrible twos! Not to scare anybody but its true. Just another reason why having a child is the most humbling experience ever.

Well, I'm off to take a bath to relax my mommy nerves and read my Positive Discipline book.
Any advice on taming crazy little toddlers is definitely appreciated. =)

Here is a pic of my little guy after he threw a fit in Target because he refused to ride in the baby seat. As you can see...he won that battle. ;)
